ATTORNEY PROFILES

JOHN S. HAGER, ESQ. is originally from Spring Valley, New York.  John received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Florida in 1994.  Immediately thereafter, John attended Nova Southeastern University, where he graduated and received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1999.

Upon graduation from law school and passing the Florida Bar, John accepted a position as an Assistant State Attorney in the Broward County State Attorneys Office in order to gain necessary trial experience and the extensive knowledge of our often complicated Criminal Justice System.  During his tenure as a prosecutor, John handled thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies and tried hundreds of cases to verdict.

After leaving the Broward County State Attorneys office, John accepted a job with the largest insurance defense firm in the state of Florida litigating on behalf of some of the state's biggest insurance companies.

John is an active member of The American Bar Association(ABA), The Association of Trial Lawyers of America(ATLA), The Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL), The Broward County Bar Association, and The Broward County Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association.  John was also appointed by the President of the Florida Bar to serve as a committee member for the Traffic Rules Committee in the State of Florida. In addition, John is admitted to practice before all Florida State Courts and the United States Southern District Court. John has also been honored in the 2009 South Florida Legal Guide as one of their "Top Up & Comers". This honor is decided by this year's top attorneys and awarded to attorneys that are under 40 years of age.

BRETT M. SCHWARTZ, ESQ. was born and raised in Miami, Florida.  In 1994, Brett earned his Bachelors Degree from the University of Miami, where he co-founded the Universities Pre-Legal Society.  Immediately thereafter, Brett attended and received his Juris Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law where he was heavily involved in trial advocacy and regional and national mock trial competitions.

Immediately after law school, Brett accepted a position as an Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade County State Attorneys Office in order to hone his litigation skills and excel in the area of criminal law.  As a prosecutor, Brett handled thousands of cases including but not limited to DUI, Domestic Violence, Battery, Drug Offenses, Theft Offenses, Aggravated Assault/Battery, Robbery, Sexual Battery, Juvenile cases, Probation Violations and all other Misdemeanors and Felonies.  Throughout his career, Brett has tried hundreds of cases to verdict in both the County and Circuit Courts.

After leaving the Miami-Dade County State Attorneys office, Brett accepted a job with the largest insurance defense firm in the state of Florida litigating on behalf of some of the state's biggest insurance companies.
